Overall Responsibility:   As part of the Occupational, Health and Safety (OHS) Team, you will assist in providing a safe and healthy work environment.   The main duties will include but are not limited to assisting in: Developing OHS and Emergency Response systems and risk management strategies for all Base activities. Ensuring accurate and timely OHS Monitoring is carried out. Auditing of OHS physical and system controls. Maintaining and improving the safety management for the ongoing operations at Kwale and ensure the safety culture matches. Maintaining and improving the Occupational Health and Hygiene plan for the Kwale site and Port Facility. Supervising the operation and function of the mine site clinic and its staff. Maintaining and managing the INX system. Preparing OHS weekly and monthly reports To succeed you will have: A Bachelor of Science preferably in Occupational Health and Safety or Environmental Science A minimum of 1 year experience in mining operations and preferably mineral sands Demonstrable skills in radio and telephone procedures Good knowledge of safety and an ability to follow instructions Demonstrable teaming skills Good communication skills & a good working knowledge of English and Kiswahili A proven ability to write reports in English Good computer skills in MS Office—particularly Word and Excel Knowledge or familiarity with PRONTO CMMS (desirable) A ‘’Can do’’ attitude
