You will be expected to research, present, write, edit and adapt original stories or programme material for all Multimedia output. Finding contributors, interviewees and other sources of material will be a large part of your role. You will be responsible for thinking through and around editorial problems and offering ideas for items, programmes/series and actively contributing to the editorial planning process. The position will expect you to conduct interviews either in the studio or on location as well as performing live on audio or video with or without a script, live or in recording sessions.The Ideal Candidate
You’ll have complete comprehension of written and spoken English and Somali. You will bring a proven track record of producing material for radio, TV and online. You’ll have substantial, recent and relevant full-time experience as a journalist. You will also have the ability to write, adapt and translate with accuracy, clarity and the style appropriate to differing audiences and forms of media.
This position requires a solid current knowledge of African news and current affairs and an understanding of audience needs across the continent. You will be experienced with reporting, in the field, on African political, economic, sport and social issues. You’ll be able to demonstrate a good range of contacts for interview purposes.
