You have experience working with fundis, and have excellent project management skills that can be applied to diverse projects from apartment refurbishment to appliance repair. You are highly organized, you think creatively and quickly on your feet and your EQ is off the charts. Most importantly, you’re hungry and motivated to be the best at what you do.

 

A bit about the role:

You are the focal point for strategic or major clients requiring maintenance or refurbishment services. You lead project management and delivery for these clients, as well as maintaining excellent communications. Specific responsibilities include:

1. Scope management

  • Ensure that scope is clear for any job or project
  • Conduct resource planning, and identify risks
  • Where required, coordinate with other teams to get technical drawings, additional expertise, and more

2. Project management

  • Coordinating fundis for jobs using Lynk’s existing worker database and technologies
  • Identify solutions when things go wrong, and provide hands-on support
  • Maintaining communications with all stakeholders throughout the project

3. Client communications

  • Maintain communications with customers, agreeing on clear scope, and informing them of timelines, progress, and issues
  • Manage communications with customers when things go wrong

4. Finance and administration

  • Ensuring that invoices are delivered on time by the Finance department
  • Resolving finance or admin issues related to the partnership

 

Successful candidates will have all or most of these qualifications: 

  • 3 years of experience as a project manager or account manager
  • At least 1 year experience as a foreman or field-based manager of fundis or artisans
  • Project management certification (eg. PRINCE2) a plus
  • BA in business, or technical skill
  • Excellent written English
  • Demonstrated track record for client communications
  • Able to work across a variety of functions, and for things you don’t know you’re eager to get your hands dirty and figure it out.
  • Experience using technology to manage
