Job Description

Operational Responsibilities

(i) Undertake statistical and research work in the department to keep up to date to new developments in the legal field

(ii) Represent the National Police Service Commission in court cases to maintain the image and ensure proper representation in cases

(iii) Liaise with the Attorney General on litigation and drafting matters

(iv) Secretary to the Legal Affairs, Policy, Programmes and Appeals Committee of the Commission in the absence of the Legal Manager

(v) Provide advisory or legal opinion to all staff to improve understanding of issues

(vi) Analyse, evaluate, review, plan, recommend and draft legal documents to ensure the legal function is maintaining deliverables

Qualifications Knowledge and Skills:

(i) Bachelor’s degree in Law from a recognized

(ii) Bachelor’s degree in Law from a recognized

(iii) Advocate of the High Court of Kenya.

(iv) Post Graduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law

(v) Computer literacy

(vi) Communication skills

(vii) Interpersonal skills

(viii) Organizational skills

(ix) Ability to work under pressure

(x) Ability to work well with teams

(xi) Problem solving skills

(xii) Supervisory skills

(xiii) Meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya

(xiv) Four (4) years of service in a comparable position from a reputable organization
