Job Description

Operational Responsibilities

  • Co-ordinate and handle all matters pertaining to procurement of goods and services including contracts, sourcing for quotations to ensure procurement standards are maintained
  • Ensuring the Commission gets quality goods and services from the suppliers to maintain the standards of the procurement function
  • Liaise closely with Corporate Support Services office on repair works and general maintenance of the Commissions offices, equipment and servicing of vehicles to provide efficient and effective support of services
  • Reconcile delivery of goods and services and validate suppliers’ invoices before passing over to Accounts Unit for settlement to ensure accurate delivery of purchases
  • Assist to prepare, publish, evaluate and award RFQ’s, in the IFMIS system to ensure timely submission for approvals
  • Prepare and assemble bid documents which include quotations and requests for proposal to ensure proper documentation is in place.

Qualifications Knowledge and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce - Economics, Business Administration, Procurement and Supplies Management, Marketing from a recognized University
  • Registered member of Kenya Institute of Supply Chain Management
  • Diploma in Purchasing and Supplies Management / Chartered Institute of Supplies Management
  • Computer literacy
  • Knowledge of Public Procurement and Disposal Act

  • Meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya
  • Four (4) years of service in a comparable position from a reputable organization
